I am a young adult and unemployed at the start of the game. Although I am in love with Marissa, she has a "Grudging after a Fight" sentiment about me. If The Sims 4: Growing Together is installed, it shows that we have bad compatibility. I also have a slightly negative relationship with Roberto Crinkletop, but it isn't severe enough to be considered anything less than acquaintances.
